In 2004 the phenomenon of “net-label” exploded internationally, very virtual record labels that offered files in the form of downloadable MP3s. They fed their own catalog through the free activity of musicians who in this way had the opportunity to spread their work widely. The element that has determined this phenomenon is a birth on 2001 in the United States of a form of legal protection of copyright more modular and flexible than the traditional “copyright”, now inadequate to new technological means. These licenses, called “Creative Commons”, allow to “download” from the Internet, duplicate and distribute a piece of music, while maintaining the protection of copyright. Subsequently, the artists were able to sign specific marketing agreements with various net-labels, while keeping full control over their own works of art.
BeardMusic was born in 2017, a new net-label based on the principles of Creative Commons licenses. The artists who choose BeardMusic to promote their music do so in total freedom and free, in a “non-exclusive” way, thus being able to continue to disclose their tracks and manage their own income by themselves or through other formulas that do not provide exclusivity. Our artists are promoted through our websites, social networks pages, mail marketing, Jamendo.com free music platform and, if requested, can monetize thanks to our artist management accounts on the Jamendo Licensing platform, obtaining 100% of revenues. BeardMusic selects its artists based on precise quality criteria. Note: This net-label don’t accept works that have been previously published, distributed or shared either digitally or physically with other agency, editor or net-label.
BeardMusicRadio was launched in March 2020. It is part of BeardMusic NetLabel. The music broadcast by BeardMusicRadio comes from independent artists who publish under copyleft. The artists broadcast on our webradio come mainly from the Free Music Platform Jamendo.com. Our webradio is not affiliated with Jamendo.
